Home Remedy to Boost Immunity

Besides making these diet and lifestyle changes, you can also strengthen your immune system by taking this garlic infused honey remedy you’re about to read.

It requires some of the world’s healthiest ingredients, honey and garlic. Before reading the garlic infused honey recipe, here’s why honey and garlic are excellent for your overall health.

Benefits of Honey

Honey contains flavonoids which help prevent heart disease. It has powerful antibacterial and antifungal properties and helps treat a cough and throat irritation.

What’s more, it boosts the production of immune cells, especially Manuka honey. Also, some varieties of honey are high in good bacteria, which makes it a natural probiotic.

Benefits of Garlic

This healthy vegetable helps regulate circulation and improve the cardiovascular system. Also, it prevents blood clotting, high blood lipid levels, and plaque buildup.

Garlic can also regulate blood pressure levels and lower the chances of developing osteoarthritis. Moreover, garlic possesses strong antiviral, antibacterial, antiparasitic, and anti-fungal properties which make it a great immunity booster.

What’s more, it contains even anti-cancerous compounds which protect against breast, brain, pancreas, and lung cancer.

To get the maximum benefits of this extremely healthy vegetable, eat it raw. You can mince, crush, or press raw garlic cloves and add them to different meals and salads.

But, the best way is to take it in combination with honey as presented in the following recipe.

DIY Garlic Infused Honey Recipe

  • Organic garlic – 1 head
  • Unpasteurized liquid honey
  • Fresh thyme – 1 sprig (optional)
  • Fresh rosemary needles – 3to 6 (optional)

Peel the cloves and crush them slightly with the back of the knife.  Add them in a jar and put the thyme and rosemary needles (if you choose to use them).

Then, pour enough honey to cover the cloves, but make sure you leave a 3inch space from the top. The reason for the space is because there will be a fermentation which will make cloves bubble and expand.

Snap or screw the lid and let the jar stay for 3-5 days. Don’t forget to put a plate under the jar to avoid a mess if the mixture overflows.

During this period, the cloves will become sweeter thanks to the honey, while the honey will get some of the garlic’s benefits.

After this period, keep the cloves in the fridge to maintain their freshness. Eat one to two of these cloves every day to boost your immune system and prevent colds, flu, and other illnesses and infections from developing.

Flip the jar upside down every day to keep garlic cloves well saturated all the time.

If you’ve screwed the lid on, make sure you open it daily to allow any CO2 leave the jar. If not, the jar might explode because of the pressure caused by the fermentation.
